oh wow would you look at the timestamp
Insomnia is the absolute worst, but I got some hand sewing done
(Look my socks have KOI fish omg)
I trimmed down all the seam allowances except the black furthest to the back then folded that forwards and down and idk did some sort of bastard felled / whip stitch nonsense to finish the front waist seam, which was already weird since I didn't put in the red front skirt lining when it would have made sense to do so since I didn't realize I needed it at the time...
Please excuse the flash but the details don't show up otherwise and I didn't want to leave the couch.
Above is my (probably wrong) interpretation of whatever the heck the lapped side closure of this thing is supposed to be doing. I know at least this version will work, and I'm not using a zipper or velcro or anything totally ahistorical. SO that's a "selective badness" for this project that prevents me from going obsessively-researching-perfectionism-hell.
Besides the whole thing is *gasp* POLYESTER because $$$$$$. I won't die of unbreathing since skirts are good ventilation and hooray for loosely fitted 20s styles woo!
SO anyways my experimental stitch seams (no, I won't apologise. Yes, that was intentional.) to be working - raw edges are all enclosed and the bulk is dramatically reduced so yay.
Of course on the back waistline it came out totally different because ??? so I ended up sewing on a bias strip then tucking it up and over and I'm on my third rip out of that since it doesn't behave and I'm really not sure wtf I'm doing anymore.
Time for lavender bath bombs and high quality good and/or bad fanfiction WOO! #goodomens
