POCKETS are a need not a want.

Anyone who's met us has heard our ranting about the sorry state of pockets in girls' and womens' clothing.

Seriously, clothing manufacturers go to the forking trouble of making FAKE pockets, or extremely shallow useless pockets. That's about 90% of the work involved in making functional effing pockets!

People like pockets. People WANT pockets. WHYYYYYYYYY clothing manufacturers, WHY. I've occasionally heard that pockets are not wanted due to adding bulk at the hips or ruining the lines of the garment or whatever and those are actually legit reasons of style, but it's stupid to apply that to all cases always. Undesired pockets can always be sewn shut (btw, a lot of clothes come with this done - sometimes you'll find Secret Pockets!).
